My name is Lucija Radunovic. I am 9 years old and I was born on October 24, 2016. I am Montenegrin and I live in Podgorica, Montenegro.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was eight years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my mom played tennis and competed in tournaments when she was younger. I started playing tennis because of her, and thanks to her I fell in love with the sport. She is my biggest support and inspiration.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at TK Star Podgorica.
What is your coaching team?
My coaches are Ivan Nikolić and my mom, Mia Radunovic.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train five days a week. I usually have tennis practice in the morning and fitness exercises in the afternoon. I focus on improving my technique, speed, movement. I also have one or two days for rest and recovery.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my forehand, speed, and movement. I would like to improve my serve.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the U10 category, and I am currently ranked No. 3 nationally in the U10 category.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest successes so far are winning first place at tournaments in Montenegro, reaching the semifinals at a tournament in Albania, and reaching the semifinals at the Serbian Wimbledon.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Montenegro, Albania, and Serbia.
Do you have any sponsors?
No, I do not have any sponsors at the moment.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal is to keep improving, work hard, win more tournaments, and become a better tennis player every day.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to become a professional tennis player, compete in the biggest tournaments in the world, and one day win Grand Slam titles while proudly representing Montenegro.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
My favorite players are Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, and Aryna Sabalenka. I admire them because they are strong, determined, hardworking, and never give up. They inspire me to work hard, believe in myself, and always fight until the last point.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy rollerblading, riding my bicycle, spending time with my friends, going for walks, and spending time with my family.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my mom. She introduced me to tennis, helped me fall in love with the sport, and has always supported me. She is always by my side, believes in me, and encourages me to keep going.
