What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Lethi Vanbesien. I was born on January 1, 2015. I am a Belgian tennis player living near Bruges.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Dutch and I am learning to speak French.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was eight years old in a club near our village.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my dad plays tennis, but only as a hobby, and my godfather also plays.
In which tennis clubs do you train?
I train in two clubs: TPR Rumbeke, mostly in group training with many other players, and Orscamp for private one-on-one training.
Who are your coaches?
My coaches are Cesar Coutinho for private training and Marc Ceulemans at TPR.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My serve and forehand are strengths, even though they can still get better. I need to improve my mental game.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I mostly play in U11 and I am starting to play with girls who are 13. My national ranking in Belgium, in the Flemish ranking, is No. 33.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
Last year, I became Flemish interclub champion in 2025.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have only played tournaments in Belgium. During the summers, I train on the Côte d’Azur, so maybe next year I can play a tournament there.
What equipment brands do you currently use?
My rackets are Tecnifibre, my shoes are Wilson, and for clothing it depends on what I like.
What is your next goal?
My next goal is to improve my mental game, and I want to play with the national selection.
What is your tennis dream?
My ultimate dream is Roland-Garros. Dream big, right?
Who are your favorite players and why?
My favorite male player is Carlos Alcaraz because I love his exceptional game. My favorite female player is Aryna Sabalenka because she is so strong.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy playing with my nephews and nieces, dancing with my best friends, and snowboarding during winter.

I want to dedicate this interview to my parents because they are my biggest supporters.
