My name is Kyara Quiñónez. I am 14 years old and I was born on January 2, 2012. I am Ecuadorian and I live in Manta, Ecuador.
What languages do you speak?
My native language is Spanish, and I can also speak English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was very young. As soon as I learned to walk, I was already holding a racket.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
My father is a coach for competitive junior players.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Umiña Tennis Club, the club in my city, which is directed by my father.
What is your coaching team?
My coach is Orlando Quiñónez, my father, who is in charge of my training group.
What is your weekly training routine?

What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my forehand and my endurance. I need to improve the direction of my serves.

I am currently in my last year of the U14 category, and I am ranked No. 2 nationally in Ecuador.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
Some of my biggest achievements are reaching the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon qualifying event, representing Ecuador at the South American Championship in the U14 category, reaching an ITF singles final, and making an ITF doubles semifinal.

I have competed in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, and Peru.

At the moment, I am supported by Fila and a shipping agency called Trading Neptuno.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to keep earning ITF points and understand myself better as a player.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to win all four Grand Slam tournaments or become World No. 1.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I do not have one favorite player, but I really like Aryna Sabalenka because I feel that my playing style is similar to hers.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy practicing other sports, doing crafts, playing the piano, and drawing.

I would like to dedicate this interview to my parents because they have always been there for me when I needed them and they always support me.
