Hi, my name is Kenna Sungurov. I am 11, almost 12 years old. I am American and I live in Charlotte, North Carolina.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English, Spanish, and Russian.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at 6 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Several people in my family have taken tennis lessons before, but no one was very serious about it.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Olde Providence Racquet Club.
What is your coaching team?
My coaches are my dad, who is my biggest supporter, Evgeniy, Misha, and Rhem, who is my fitness coach.
What is your weekly training routine?
I play tennis 4 to 5 days a week for 2.5 hours, followed by 30 minutes of fitness. Once or twice a week, I also do one hour of personal fitness training.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my serve and aggressive shots. I need to improve my overheads, especially on random points.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the U12 category. I am ranked No. 13 in the state and No. 243 nationally. My singles UTR is 5.50.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
In 2026, I have reached the semifinals in every tournament I have played so far.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have only played tournaments in the United States.

What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to win an L3 tournament in the U12 first draw.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to prove that lefties are as good as any right-handed player, coming from a lefty.

I would love to meet Aryna Sabalenka and Novak Djokovic because they have great personalities and a great sense of humor.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
I enjoy hanging out with my friends and baking.
