My name is Kate Amezquita. I was born on September 12, 2015. I am American and I live in Atlanta, Georgia. I am passionate about tennis and truly believe that the only things you cannot do are the ones you do not set your mind to.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Spanish and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was six and a half years old. My tennis journey began with my coach Bryan. Although he has passed away, I will always remember that he was the person who made me fall in love with this beautiful sport and who believed in me from the very beginning.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, I am the first tennis player in my family.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Alpha Tennis Academy.
What is your coaching team?
My coaching team includes Coach Alex, Attila, Coach E, and of course my parents.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train from Monday through Thursday every week, from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my consistent backhand. I am currently working on improving my serve and forehand.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the U12 category and my current national ranking is No. 1,528. I am working hard every day to improve it.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
One of my greatest achievements so far has been qualifying for a national tournament.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have only competed in the United States. However, I will soon travel to Croatia to represent Team USA, and I am very excited for that opportunity.
Do you have any sponsors?
I do not have any sponsors yet, but I would love to find a sponsor who sees my potential and believes in me.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to become a more strategic player and continue improving every aspect of my game.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become the No. 1 tennis player in the world and leave a lasting mark on tennis history.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would love to meet Serena Williams because she has always inspired me. She is one of the greatest players in tennis history, and I admire the way she handled both victories and challenges throughout her career.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy mathematics, reading, cooking, and taking on fun challenges. One of my favorite challenges is seeing how long I can hang from a bar.
