My name is Ivan Charnyshou. I am 16 years old and I was born on July 4, 2010. I am from Belarus and I live in Minsk.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Russian, English, and Belarusian.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was five years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, there are no tennis players in my family.
In which tennis club do you train?
I have been training at the City Olympic Reserve Center since the very beginning of my tennis career.
What is your coaching team?
My tennis coaches are Fedor Dudchik and Kirill Glushchenko, and my physical conditioning coach is Aleksandr Shimkevich.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is that I constantly strive to develop and improve myself as a player. Of course, there is always something to work on.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I am 16 years old and compete in ITF Juniors tournaments in the U18 category. I am ranked No. 2 in Belarus in U18 and No. 1 in Belarus in U16.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest achievements include winning singles titles at J30 Telavi, J30 Dushanbe, and J60 Široki Brijeg, as well as reaching the semifinals at J100 Almaty. In doubles, I won titles at J30 Tsaghkadzor and J60 Almaty, and reached the semifinals at J100 Poznan. Another major achievement is becoming a three-time absolute national champion in the U16 category.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played ITF tournaments in Georgia, Uzbekistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, and Poland.
Do you have any sponsors?
Unfortunately, I do not have any sponsors at the moment, but I am open to suggestions.
What is your goal for 2026?
My immediate goal is to break into the Top 100 of the ITF Junior Rankings.
What is your tennis dream?
For me, a tennis dream is a constant pursuit of perfection and a love for the game. It is the meaning of my life on the court.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
My favorite player is Roger Federer. I admire his composure, his on-court intelligence, and the elegance of his game. He simply has the aura of a legend.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
For me, the most important thing is spending time with family and close friends. It helps me recharge and feel like an ordinary person, not just an athlete.
