Introduce yourself: Name, Age, Date of Birth, Nationality, City of Residence
My name is Iony Peeva. I am 13 years old and I was born on December 27, 2012. I represent Germany and live in Bonn, Germany. My parents are both from Bulgaria.
What languages do you speak?
I speak German fluently. I also speak English well and Bulgarian almost fluently. I am currently learning French at school.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of 10, in April 2023.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
I am the only tennis player in my family. My father trains with me and supports me, so he also plays tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Bonner THV.
What is your coaching team?
My father is my coach and supports me throughout my tennis development.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train every day, usually for around three hours. Sometimes I have additional two-hour training sessions during the week. I also do fitness and athletic training.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My strengths are my strong serve, endurance, and backhand. I am working on my forehand, footwork, and improving all areas of my game.
What is your age category and ranking?
I compete in the U15 / W14 category. My German rating is LK 13.5, which corresponds approximately to a UTR of 5.0.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
After only one year of training, I won the W12 club championships at the age of 11. One year later, I reached the final of the W14–W16 club championships. I have also won other tournaments and important matches against stronger players.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have only played tournaments in Germany, but in many different cities.
Do you have any sponsors?
I do not have any sponsors yet, but I am looking for support because it is important for my tennis development.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal is to improve my LK and UTR ratings, enter the German national rankings, and continue improving as a player.
What is your tennis dream?
My biggest dream is to become a professional tennis player and compete in the biggest tournaments in the world.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would most like to meet Elena Rybakina. I am a big fan of her because I admire her calm character both on and off the court.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
I create professional mandalas by drawing them myself. I also enjoy playing chess and spending time with my family.
