What is your name, birthdate, nationality, residence?
My name is Hazel Sharma. I was born on May 15, 2013. My nationality is British and my residency is Canadian.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was seven years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my cousin plays tennis for her school.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at The Tennis Centre.
Who are your coaches?
My tennis coach is coach Bhuvan, and my fitness coach is Bolade Ajomale, also known as Mobolade.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength as a player is my fast down-the-line forehand. Something I need to improve is my backhand slice.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I currently play in the U14 category. My highest provincial ranking is Top 6 in British Columbia, Canada.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Canada and Uganda, and I have also trained in the United Kingdom.
What equipment brands do you currently use, and are you sponsored by any of them?
I currently use Toned for my strings and rackets, and Nike for my on-court clothing.
What is your next goal?
My next goal is to be in the Top 300 on the ITF tour by the end of 2028.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to win all four Grand Slam titles and become World No. 1.
Who is your favorite player and why?
My favorite women’s tennis player is Aryna Sabalenka because she controls most of her points on court. My favorite men’s tennis player is Roger Federer because he stays calm on the tennis court, even under pressure.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I like to travel, go shopping, and watch different sports with my dad.
