My name is Erynne Francesca Ong. I am 16 years old and I was born on June 3, 2010. I am Filipino and I live in Parañaque, Philippines.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English and Filipino.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 10 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my mom plays from time to time, and my dad learned tennis at the same time as me. He coaches me now as well. My cousins and grandparents also play tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Marcelo Green Village Tennis Club and the Philippine Columbian Association.
What is your coaching team?
My coaching team consists of three tennis coaches and one strength and conditioning coach.
What is your weekly training routine?
I do fitness three to four times a week, and I train on court six times a week.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest mental strength as a player is my determination and grit. In terms of technique and strokes, I would say my forehand is my biggest strength. I am working on improving my serve and constructing points better.
What is your age category and ranking?
I compete in the 16U category and I am currently ranked No. 1.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
Some of my greatest achievements so far have been joining the Billie Jean King Cup Juniors team two years in a row. In the first year, we came from pre-qualifying all the way to final qualifying. I also played in the Roland Garros Regional Qualifiers in China and scored ITF points in Manila.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Malaysia, Singapore, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, and China.
Do you have any sponsors?
Yes, my sponsors are Lacoste, Rudy Project, and HEAD.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to break into the ITF Top 1000 and win a title.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to make it to a Division 1 college in America. My dream school is Stanford, and maybe I would like to turn professional in the future.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would like to meet Rafa Nadal because he has always been my tennis idol and he inspires me to never give up.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy school, writing, and spending time with my friends.
