My name is Elyse Fontaine. I was born on March 5, 2014. I am Belgian and I live in Belgium.
What languages do you speak?
I speak French and English, and I am also learning Dutch.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was three years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, I am the only tennis player in my family.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Havré Tennis Club and Justine Henin Tennis Club.
What is your coaching team?
My coaches are Yves Pavenage, a Level 3 coach, and Morgan Lesure.
What is your weekly training routine?

What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my forehand and my attacking style of play. I would like to improve my serve even more.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the U12 category, and my Belgian ranking is B0.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
Some of my greatest achievements so far are competing in Tennis Europe tournaments and representing Belgium in national competitions. I have reached the semifinals twice in Tennis Europe tournaments, won several Ladies 3 and Ladies 2 tournaments, and made my U14 debut in Veurne, where I won my first-round match.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Belgium, Albania, France, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands.

What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to keep improving, increase my ranking, and reach the Ladies 1 level in Belgium. I also want to achieve great results in Tennis Europe tournaments and eventually win Tennis Europe titles.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional tennis player and one day be World No. 1. I also want to be known as one of the most respected players for my attitude and fighting spirit.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
My favorite player is Aryna Sabalenka because I admire her powerful game, fighting spirit, and determination.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my family and my pets, shopping, and creating content on social media.

I would like to dedicate this interview to my family, my coaches, and everyone who supports me on my tennis journey. I also ask them to believe in me and in my dreams.
