My name is Donatus Nyaaba. I am 16 years old and I was born on October 22, 2009. I am Ghanaian and I live in Tema, Ghana.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English and my family languages.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of eight.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my brother used to play tennis. He is not playing anymore because he is working now, but my family supports my tennis journey.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at St Francis Tennis Club in Ghana.
What is your coaching team?
My coaching team includes Francis Asare-Mainoo, who helps me improve my technique, fitness, discipline, and match preparation.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train several days each week. My routine includes tennis practice, fitness training, footwork, serving, match play, recovery, and mental preparation. I also make time for school and rest.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my determination, fighting spirit, and willingness to learn. I want to improve my consistency, physical strength, and decision-making during important points.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the Under-18 category and my ITF junior ranking is 2762.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
One of my proudest achievements is representing Ghana in tennis. I have played for the Ghana national team and won matches and tournaments in Ghana, Togo, Benin, Algeria, and other countries. These experiences have helped me grow as a player.

I have played tournaments in Ghana, Togo, Benin, Ivory Coast, and Algeria.
Do you have any sponsors?
At the moment, I do not have an official sponsor. I am open to working with sponsors who believe in young African tennis players and want to support my development.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to improve my national and international ranking, compete in more tournaments, represent Ghana proudly, and continue developing my game.
What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to become a professional tennis player, compete in the biggest tournaments in the world, earn a college scholarship, and make Ghana proud.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would most like to meet Novak Djokovic because of his hard work, discipline, mental strength, and achievements in tennis. I would like to learn from his mindset and experience.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, listening to music, watching tennis, and learning new things.

I dedicate this interview to my family, coaches, teammates, friends, and everyone who supports my tennis journey. I also dedicate it to young tennis players in Ghana and Africa who are working hard to achieve their dreams.
