My name is Tijn Tuinman. I am 13 years old. I was born on September 18, 2012, in Hoogeveen, the Netherlands.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Dutch and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 6 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my father and mother play tennis, and my brother and sister used to play.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Tennisteam het Noorden in Haren and at TC Suthwalda in Zuidwolde.
What is your coaching team?
My coaches are Edwin Buruma and Floris Kilian.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train five times per week, including two physical training sessions.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my forehand. I need to improve my serve and my mentality.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the Under 14 category and I am currently ranked No. 38 in the Netherlands.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My best results include: Singles – second round Silver JE14 (2026) and first place Bronze JE14 (2025). Doubles – first place Silver JD14 (2026). NJK – quarterfinal in doubles (2024).
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played in the Netherlands, Germany, and Spain (Mallorca).

What is your goal for 2026?
My goal is to reach the Top 25 in the Netherlands.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional tennis player.

I would like to meet Rafael Nadal because he has been my idol since I started playing tennis.

I enjoy spending time with my friends, watching tennis, and gaming.
