My name is Ruoran Hou. I am 12 years old and I was born on February 10, 2014. I am Canadian-Chinese and I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English, Mandarin Chinese, and French.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was seven years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my dad plays tennis.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Sobeys Atlantic Tennis Centre.
What is your coaching team?
My tennis coaches are Ethan Churchill and my dad, Tony Hou.
What is your weekly training routine?
Each week, I do 8 hours of group training, 2 hours of private lessons, 3 hours of fitness, and 1 hour of hitting with my dad.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is controlling the ball with my forehand. I need to improve my backhand.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the U12 category, and I am ranked No. 15 nationally.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest success so far was being ranked No. 20 at the U12 Winter Nationals.
