My name is Manon Singer. I was born on June 24, 2009. I am German and I live in Hannover, Germany.
What languages do you speak?
I speak German and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was six years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Only my little brother plays tennis sometimes, but he prefers playing soccer.
In which tennis club do you train?
I practice at HTV Hannover and at Hemmingen Sports Center.
What is your coaching team?
My coaches are Martina Müller and Dirk Vestweber.
What is your weekly training routine?
This answer was not specified.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
I would say my greatest strength is definitely my backhand. Of course, I have to improve everything, not just my shots, but also the mental side.
What is your age category and national ranking?
My age category since this year is U18, but for the past two years I have focused more on women’s tournaments, and I only play U18 when I compete internationally. My national ranking is No. 52 in U18 and No. 256 in the women’s ranking. My best Tennis Europe ranking was No. 941, and I am now ranked in the U18 ITF ranking list.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
I reached my first ITF Junior final this year and played some semifinals on the Tennis Europe Junior Tour in 2025. I also won a national women’s ranking tournament.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Poland, Ghana, Cyprus, Spain, and the Netherlands.
Do you have any sponsors?
Yes, I have Wilson and Sanct Bernhard Sport as sponsors.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to continue developing both as a player and as a person, and to improve my national women’s ranking.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to play on the WTA Tour and compete in Grand Slams, and ideally to win a Grand Slam and become World No. 1.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
My favorite tennis players are Ben Shelton and Aryna Sabalenka. I really like Ben Shelton’s serve and his power on the court, as well as Aryna Sabalenka’s aggressive playing style and strong presence on court.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I really enjoy show jumping, which I did for many years, but I hardly have time for it anymore. I also enjoy meeting up with friends.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my parents and to everyone who supports me daily.
