🎙️ Egert Trave | Interview, August 2026

Introduce yourself: Name, Age, Date of Birth, Nationality, City of Residence
My name is Egert Trave. I am 17 years old and I was born in 2009. I am Estonian and I live in Haapsalu, Estonia.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Estonian and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was five years old, after a coach from Tallinn saw me and my brother hitting against a wall with a yellow ball and suggested that we start tennis training.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my brother also plays tennis, and my mom and dad play a little bit too.
In which tennis club do you train?
I have trained my whole life at Haapsalu Tennis Club, but from September 2026 I will be training at Audentes in Tallinn.
What is your coaching team?
My current coach is Igor Nudelman.
What is your weekly training routine?
It usually depends on whether I participate in a tournament at the end of the week or not, but in general, without a tournament during the summer, I spend about 15 to 20 hours on the field and with that comes a bit of physical training on the track of the stadium, the woods, the gym or the beach. It depends on what the coach wants us to do and all together, about 6 hours of training during the week.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my mentality. I have played many matches where I was down match points and still won. I need to improve my consistency in rallies.
What is your age category and national ranking?
In the 2009 age group, I am ranked No. 3.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest success so far is reaching an ITF J30 doubles final.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I mainly play tournaments in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Finland.
Do you have any sponsors?
No, I do not have any sponsors at the moment.
What is your goal for 2026?
My next goal is to reach the ITF Top 1000.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to one day win a Masters 1000 title.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
My favorite player is Carlos Alcaraz. The way he hits the ball is incredible, and I also admire the way he moves on court.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I like playing all sports, but my favorite is basketball. I also used to play basketball when I was little.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to potential sponsors such as Head, Babolat, Wilson, Tecnifibre, Yonex, Asics, and others.
