Introduce yourself: Name, Age, Date of Birth, Nationality, City of Residence
My name is Chiraz Kilani. I am 12 years old and I was born on April 8, 2014. I am from Tunis, Tunisia. I am a passionate young tennis player who loves competing and representing my country on the international stage.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Arabic and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was eight years old. From the very first time I stepped onto the court, I knew this was the sport I wanted to dedicate myself to.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, I am the only tennis player in my family, but they have always supported me and encouraged me to follow my dream.
In which tennis club do you train?
I train at Avenir Sportif de La Marsa (ASM) in Tunisia.
What is your coaching team?
I first discovered tennis through Adel Sghair, who believed in me and encouraged me to pursue the sport. Later, I trained with Seif Ben Sliman, who helped me build my technical foundations and move from recreational to competitive tennis. Today, I train at my club with Amin Hmima and Yassine Debbech, and my mental coach is Ms. Eya Fahmia. With the Tunisian National Team, I work with Moez Hchaichi, Mr. Fares, and Seif Ben Sliman.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my forehand. It is one of my most powerful shots, and I like to play aggressively from the baseline. The areas I want to improve the most are my physical fitness and mental strength, because they are essential for competing at the highest level.
What is your age category and national ranking?
I compete in the Under-12 category. I am currently ranked No. 3 in Tunisia and No. 70 in the African U14 rankings.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
One of the proudest moments of my career has been qualifying for the Orange Bowl final draw in Miami, where I will have the honor of representing Tunisia and Africa in the U12 category. It is a dream come true and an important step in my tennis journey.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have competed in Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco. Every tournament has helped me gain valuable experience and confidence.
Do you have any sponsors?
Not yet. I hope that through my performances and dedication, I will attract sponsors who believe in my potential and support my journey.
What is your goal for 2026?
My next goal is to perform at my very best at the Orange Bowl in Miami and continue improving my international ranking.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to make history by becoming one of the greatest tennis players in the world and winning Grand Slam titles. I want my name to be remembered among the best players in tennis history.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
My favorite player is Serena Williams, especially during her younger years. I admire her incredible power, fighting spirit, determination, and champion mentality. She inspires me to work hard every day.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy reading books in English and spending time with my cousins and my brother. Being with my family helps me relax and stay happy.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my little brother, Adam, who is only seven years old. He supports me during my matches, stays by my side during tournaments, cheers for me, and encourages me with so much love. His support gives me great strength and motivation to keep chasing my dreams.
