Hello, introduce yourself please.My name is Vendel Szabó, I am 10 years old. I was born on September 18, 2015. I am Hungarian and I live in Mallorca, Spain.
What languages do you speak?I speak four languages: Hungarian, English, Spanish, and Catalan.
At what age did you start playing tennis?I started playing tennis when I was 3 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?There are no professional tennis players in my family, but my parents play tennis at a hobby level, and it is the favorite sport of our whole family.
In which club do you train?I train at Nomads Tenis Team in Mallorca.
Who are your coaches?I train in group sessions at my club, and I also work with a private tennis coach and a fitness coach.
What is your weekly training routine?I train every day, with two hours of tennis and one hour of fitness training.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?My greatest strengths are my determination and perseverance. I believe that to achieve my dreams, I need to improve in every area, day by day.
What is your age category and your national ranking?I have recently started competing in the U12 age category.
What have been your greatest successes so far?My greatest achievements so far include becoming Mallorca Champion and Balearic Islands Champion in singles in the U10B category, and winning the MED World Cup team competition.
In which countries have you played tournaments?So far, I have competed in major tournaments only in Spain.
Do you have any sponsors?At the moment, I do not have any sponsors.
What is your goal for 2026?My goal is to continue developing in the U12 category, perform well in several Tennis Europe tournaments, and keep competing, which I really enjoy.
What is your tennis dream?My biggest dream is to be better every day than I was the day before. I believe this mindset will help me become a successful professional tennis player in the future.
Who are your favorite tennis players?I do not have one specific favorite, but because of his Spanish background, Carlos Alcaraz is especially close to my heart.
What do you enjoy outside of tennis?Outside of tennis, I really enjoy playing football with my friends and fingerboarding.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?I would like to dedicate this interview to my family and my coaches, who support me and help me improve every day.
