Hello, introduce yourself please.Hello, my name is Simona Popova. I am 13 years old and was born on March 20, 2012, in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
What languages do you speak?I speak Bulgarian and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?I started playing tennis at the age of four and a half.
Are there other tennis players in your family?There are no other tennis players in my family.
In which club do you train?I train at the Plovdiv 1924 club.
Who are your coaches?My coaching team consists of Nikolay Draganov (head coach), Jordan Jovchev (physical trainer), and Diliana Angelova (mental coach).
What is your weekly training routine?I train every day except Sunday for three hours.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?I think my strength is my forehand, and I need to improve my footwork.
What is your age category and your national ranking?I play in the under-14 category and am currently ranked number 1 in Bulgaria.
What have been your greatest successes so far?My greatest achievement is winning two consecutive Tennis Europe Category 3 tournaments.
In which countries have you played tournaments?I have participated in tournaments in many countries.
Do you have any sponsors?I don’t have a sponsor.
What is your goal for 2026?My goal for 2026 is to win a Category 1 tournament and perform well in a Tennis Europe Super Category tournament.
What is your tennis dream?My dream is to win more than 4 Grand Slams and be ranked among the top 3 players in the WTA rankings.
Who are your favorite tennis players?My favorite tennis player is Simona Halep.
What do you enjoy outside of tennis?Outside of tennis, I enjoy listening to music, drawing, playing games, and going out with friends.
