Hello, introduce yourself please.

Hello, my name is Polina Kashitsyna. I was born on December 8, 2012, and I live in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

What languages do you speak?

I speak Russian and have a good level of English.

At what age did you start playing tennis?

I started playing tennis at the age of 6.

Are there other tennis players in your family?

No one in my family played tennis.

In which club do you train?

I train at the Lokomotiv Municipal School and I am enrolled at the Grinvich Tennis Academy.

Who are your coaches?

My coach is Rufina Rakhimova, my national team coach is Nadezhda Ivanova, and my general physical training coach is Tatyana Tokarevskikh.

What is your weekly training routine?

I train two to three times a day.

What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?

I think my strengths are my baseline game and my net play. My serve needs improvement.

What is your age category and your national ranking?

I am in the under-14 category. I am ranked 5th or 6th in the Tennis Europe rankings, and I am number 1 in my country.

What have been your greatest successes so far?

My best results date back to 2025: I won Category 2 tournaments in the U14 and U16 categories. I recently reached the semi-finals of the Les Petits As tournament in singles and finished first in doubles. Of course, it’s not the result I was hoping for in singles, but it’s not bad nonetheless.

In which countries have you played tournaments?

I have been to tournaments in countries such as Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, Montenegro, Serbia, France.

Do you have any sponsors?

I have a contract with Yonex.

What is your goal for 2026?

My goal for 2026 is to win every tournament I play.

What is your tennis dream?

My dream is to be the world’s number 1 singles player in the WTA.

Who are your favorite tennis players?

My favorite women’s tennis players are Sabalenka and my favorite men’s tennis player is Djokovic.

What do you enjoy outside of tennis?

I don’t have any special hobbies besides tennis. I generally like hanging out with friends; I don’t really have time to do anything other than tennis.
