Hello, introduce yourself please.

My name is Matías Donet Gadea, I am 13 years old, and I was born on April 29, 2012. I am from Lima, Peru.

What languages do you speak?

I speak Spanish, English, and a little French.

At what age did you start playing tennis?

I started playing tennis at 2 years and 10 months old.

Are there other tennis players in your family?

My whole family plays tennis: my father, my mother, my sister, and me.

In which club do you train?

I train at the Jockey Club del Perú.

Who are your coaches?

My coach is my father, Fernando Donet.

What is your weekly training routine?

From Monday to Friday, I train from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM (physical conditioning) and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (tennis). On Saturdays and Sundays, I have two-hour private lessons.

As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?

My best quality is my speed. I still need to improve my muscle strength. Legs and Arms

What is your junior category and your national ranking?

I’m not playing juniors yet, but I’m ranked 90th in the COSAT under-14 rankings and 14th nationally.

What has been your greatest achievement?

My greatest achievement was winning a Category 1 under-14 tournament with a partner I’d never played with before.

In which countries have you already played tournament?

I’ve already played in Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Colombia, the United States, and Spain.

Do you have any sponsors?

I don’t have a sponsor.

What is your goal for 2026?

My goal is to break into the top 10 of the COSAT rankings.

What is your tennis dream?

My tennis dream is to reach the ATP Finals and win the French Open.

Who are your favorite tennis players?

My favorite tennis players are Carlos Alcaraz, Ben Shelton, and Novak Djokovic.

What do you like to do outside of tennis?

I enjoy playing all kinds of sports, like basketball, padel, etc.
