Hello, introduce yourself please.Well, hi, I’m Mariano La Torre Delgado, I’m 11 years old, I was born on April 11, 2014, I’m Peruvian and I’m from the city of Chiclayo.
What languages do you speak?I speak Spanish and a little bit of English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?I started playing tennis when I was four.
Are there other tennis players in your family?My brother and my dad.
In which club do you train?I play for the Jockey Club of Chiclayo. In the city of Chiclayo, in Peru.
Who are your coaches?My coaches were Salomón Canasco and Ángel Mejía. And the ones I train with now are León Carlos Delgado and Juan Carlos Rojas.
What is your weekly training routine?My weekly routine is six hours a day, two of which are physical training and four are tennis.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?My greatest strength is my forehand, and what I need to improve is my second serve.
What is your age category and national ranking?My junior category is twelve years old. In the single category, I am ranked number 11. In the doubles category, I am ranked number 4.
What have been your greatest successes so far?–
In which countries have you played tournaments?I don’t play in any country yet, only in Peru.
Do you have any sponsors?I have no sponsors.
What is your goal for 2026?My goal is to reach the national pre-selection camp.
What is your tennis dream?My dream is to represent Peru in the Davis Cup and Roland-Garros.
Who are your favorite tennis players?Alcaraz and Sinner.
What do you enjoy outside of tennis?I do MMA.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?I would like to dedicate this interview to my mom and dad who support me every step of the way, and to my coaches who are by my side in every tournament.
