Hello, introduce yourself please.My name is Giulio Kalil Pereyra Avila, I’m 14 years old, I was born on February 22, 2011.
I live in Lima, Peru.What languages do you speak?English and Spanish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?I started competing at 12, but I’ve been playing tennis since I was 6.
Are there other tennis players in your family?My mom and dad play tennis, and my sister played on a scholarship in the USA.
In which club do you train?I don’t train at any club — I train at the Luis Ramos Academy.
Who are your coaches?Luis Ramos.
What is your weekly training routine?I train every day — 1 hour of physical conditioning and 2 hours of tennis 🎾
As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?I need to improve my physique a bit and be more aggressive.
What is your junior category and your national ranking?My age category is U14, but I already play at a U16. My best ranking at U14 was 12, and at U16 I’m currently ranked 24th, but by the beginning of 2026 I’ll be 20th.
What has been your greatest achievement?My greatest success has been winning 5 National tournaments in less than 2 years of competition.
In which countries have you already played tournament?At the moment I haven’t played in any other country, only in the USA 🇺🇸, but not in any tournaments.
Do you have any sponsors?Right now I’m with Dunlop, who are supporting my career.
What is your goal for 2026?My goal is to be in the top 15 of the 16-year-old category, and if things go well, in the top 10.
What is your tennis dream?My dream is to represent Peru 🇵🇪 and play in Grand Slams.
Who are your favorite tennis players?My favorite players are Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alacaraz, and Jannik Sinner.
What do you like to do outside of tennis?Besides tennis, I like to play soccer 🥅 and video games 🎮
To which people would you like to dedicate this interview?I would like to dedicate this to my sister and my parents.
