Hello, introduce yourself please.

My name is Gakuto Todo. I am 13 years old, born on May 1, 2012. I am Japanese and live in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan.

What languages do you speak?

I speak Japanese and I’m currently learning English.

At what age did you start playing tennis?

I’ve been playing tennis since I was 3 years old.

Are there other tennis players in your family?

My older sister, Ran Todo, is a tennis player and my father, Ryo Todo, is a coach.

In which club do you train?

I train at the UTENA Tennis Academy.

Who are your coaches?

My coach is Ryo Todo.

What is your weekly training routine?

I train six days a week. I do weight training twice a week, for one hour per session. I also do cardio three to four times a week. I practice tennis four to five hours a day and, after training, I work on my footwork twice a week.

What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?

My strength is an aggressive style of tennis, based on a running forehand.

What is your age category and your national ranking?

I compete in the under-14 category.

What have been your greatest successes so far?

I won the IMG Discovery Open.

In which countries have you played tournaments?

I have participated in tournaments in Japan and the United States. 12. My sponsors are HEAD and Hirayama Kiko Co., Ltd.

What is your goal for 2026?

My goals are to earn ITF points and participate in international tournaments.

What is your tennis dream?

My dream is to reach the ATP Top 10.

Who are your favorite tennis players?

My favorite player is Learner Tien.

What do you enjoy outside of tennis?

In my free time, I enjoy walking my dog.
