Hello, introduce yourself please.
My name is Zoë Coertjens, I’m 11 years old, born on January 15, 2014.
I’m from the Netherlands and I live in the village of Rijsbergen.

What languages ​​do you speak?
I speak Dutch and a little bit of English.

At what age did you start playing tennis?
When I was 6 years old, and even when I was 3, I was already standing in the living room hitting a balloon 😂

Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, definitely! My whole family plays tennis, and so do my cousins.😃 My dad is a tenniscoach.

In which club do you train tennis?
I train at Upgrade Tennis at TPV De IJpelaar in Breda, and at Yuniqq in Roosendaal (De Stok).

Who is your tennis coach?
My coaches are Ivo Coertjens, Eric Hoppenbrouwers, and Luc Govers from Tennisacademy Yuniqq.

What is your weekly training routine?
I train on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. On Sundays, I play competition matches.

As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?
I will never give up and will do everything I can to win. My forehand is definitely my biggest weapon.
What’s a bit less good is that I can be too much of a perfectionist.

What is your junior tennis category and your national tennis ranking?
I play in the KNLTB 11/14 competition.
In tournaments, I play the Silver U12 category.
I’m in the Top 100 of the Netherlands under 12, and since I’m a first-year player, I can compete again next year.

What has been your greatest achievement?
I’ve been competition champion several times in a row.
Last week, I won an OJT (Optus Junior Tour) tournament for girls ages 11–14 (see photo for the trophy 🏆).

Netherlands

Do you have any sponsors?
My mom and dad

What is your goal for 2026?
My goal is to play in the Junior Tour Level Gold and to attend a sports academy next school year so I can make my dream come true.

What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional tennis player.

Who are your favorite tennis players?
My favorite players are Sabalenka, Sinner, Shelton, Nadal, and Federer.

What do you like to do outside of tennis?
I love playing outside with my friends.
