🎙️Višnja Mitić | Interview, October 2025
Hello, introduce yourself please.
My name is Višnja Mitić, I was born on January 3, 2014.
I am Serbien and I live in Niš, Serbia. What languages do you speak?
I speak English and am currently learning French. At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis in May 2020, when I was 6 years old.Are there other tennis players in your family?
My younger brother, a talented skier and judoka, also plays tennis, while my dad is an exceptional expert in the theoretical aspects of the game.In which club do you train tennis?
I train at Tennis Club “Kostić” and the Živković Tennis Academy.Who is your tennis coach?
My coaches are Đole Kostić, Saša Tomić, and Aleksandar Đorđević — but my most important coach, although unlicensed, is my dad. What is your weekly training routine?
I train diligently and stay focused every day except on weekends, which are usually reserved for tournaments.
I play tennis for about 2.5 hours daily and dedicate another hour to fitness. As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?
I play strong, aggressive tennis and dislike slow-paced matches — even on match points. 💪
I love mathematics and try to apply its logic to my play. 🧠
I like leaving the audience with the impression of a strong and determined girl, so I play with passion and temperament. 🔥What is your junior tennis category and your national tennis ranking?
In my country, I have no real competition in the U12 category.
However, due to financial and organizational limitations, my national ranking doesn’t fully reflect my true level.
I live in Niš, which is not very close to Belgrade where most tournaments take place, so I can’t participate every weekend — but whenever I do, I win without losing a set. What has been your greatest achievement?
My proudest achievements include reaching the final of the Lemon Bowl, winning the national championship and U10 title, winning the Champion Bowl World Final, and representing my region at a tournament in Venice. In which countries have you already participated in tennis tournaments?
So far, I have competed in Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Malta, and Italy.Do you have any sponsors?
None. What is your goal for 2026?
My goals are to raise my UTR ranking, add a few more trophies to my shelf, and play in beautiful places where I can give my absolute best. What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become the first doctor ever to win Wimbledon.Who are your favorite tennis players?
I come from the country of Novak Djokovic, whom I deeply admire and respect.
Among female players, I look up to the Williams sisters and Aryna Sabalenka — especially for her charisma and energy during Grand Slam press conferences. What do you like to do outside of tennis?
Besides tennis, I also train in competitive skiing and volleyball.
I love solving math problems, adore reciting poetry, and often win at recitation contests. To which people would you like to dedicate this interview?
To my mom — whose energy constantly supports and inspires the success of my sister, my brother, and me.Thanks a lot Višnja!
