Hello, introduce yourself please.

My name is Sofia Foggia, I’m 12 years old, my birthday is March 28, 2013.
I’m Italian and I live in Bologna, Italia.

What languages do you speak?

I speak Italian and English.

At what age did you start playing tennis?

I started playing tennis at the age of 4 because my father is a teacher and he taught me to play from a very young age.

Are there other tennis players in your family?

Yes, in my family my 9-year-old sister plays tennis and my father who is now a teacher played.

Which club do you train with?

I train at Club La Meridiana with Carlotta Arginelli. With her, I won the doubles championship twice in a row and finished second in the 2025 Summer Cup.

Who are your coaches?

My coach is my father Mauro Foggia.

What is your weekly training routine?

During my training I first warm up, I play tennis for 2 hours and I do athletics for an hour.

What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?

My best shot is the forehand and I like to do the back a lot, I have to improve the service and the volleys.

What is your tennis category and national ranking?

My category this year is Under-13 and in Europe my ranking is #259.

What has been your greatest achievement so far?

My best results are the Summer Cup and the victories in the 2024/2025 Italian championships.

In which countries have you played tournaments?

I played in Italy, France, Finland, Switzerland, Slovenia, England, Serbia.
The country where I would like to play is Japan or America.

Do you have any sponsors?

As a sponsor I have HEAD for about 2 years then I don’t know if I will continue with them.

What is your goal for 2026?

What is your tennis dream?

My ambition is to become a top player at the world level, to break into the top 10.

Who are your favorite tennis players?

My favorite players are Venus Williams, and Yasmine Paolini and as male Jannik Sinner and Nick Kyrgios.

What do you enjoy outside of tennis?

Outside of tennis I like to travel, I really like history but above all I have a great passion for drawing.
