Hello, introduce yourself please.
Hello! My name is Sergey De Bruijn. I am 10 years old. I was born in The Netherlands on the 5th of September 2014. I am half Dutch and half Korean.At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started to play tennis at the age of 3,5. My older brother Dima played tennis at our local tennis club and while he was training I played with my mom. The trainer spotted me hitting the ball and he invited me to join the lesson too. From that moment I play tennis on a daily basis.Are there other tennis players in your family?
In my family my dad played tennis in his youth and as I mentioned earlier my brother Dima plays tennis on a high level as well.What is your club?
I started to play tennis at a club called At Risk in Utrecht. After a few years I started to train at the Tennis School “House of Tennis” with my trainer Denny Van Den Berg. At the moment I am also part of the Dutch Tennis Association where I train twice a week.Who is your coach?
My trainer is Denny Van Den Berg.How many hours a week do you train tennis and do physical training?
Per week I train around 14 hours of which 9-10 hours is tennis and 4 hours of physical training. During the weekend I usually play National Tournaments (Gold level).Do you have any sponsors?
My sponsor is Wilson. I always loved this brand and so happy that now I can play with a great racket and I also got such a lovely tennis bag.What racket do you play with?
My racket is the Wilson Blade and it weights 285 grams.What are your best results so far and your national ranking?
In 2023 I won the Dutch Masters Championship up to 9 yo and last year I won the same title at the age of 9 in the category up to 10 yo.
My best ranking has been 6 in the category up to 12 yo and my current ranking is 11 in the same category.In which countries have you ever been to play tennis?
Over the last year I played several international tournaments in the Netherlands and in Braga, Portugal. Twice I was in Belgium to represent my country and play against other countries.What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to win the US Open.Who are your favorite male and female tennis players?
My favorite male tennis player is Jannik Sinner and female tennis player Mira Andreeva.Thanks a lot Sergey!
