Hello, introduce yourself please.
Hi, my name is Sara Paganelli. I am 14 years old, born on February 9, 2012. I am Italian and I live in Milan.
What languages do you speak?
My native language is Italian, but I also speak English and Spanish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 6 years old and I have been playing tournaments since I was 10.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
My parents are very passionate about tennis, and my mum played some tournaments.
In which club do you train?
I train at Sporting MI2 for Vavassori.
Who are your coaches?
My head coach is Stefano Bettinelli, and I also train privately with Carmela Vitali and Stefano Rampazzo.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train at Sporting on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for 3.5 hours. On Tuesdays, I go to the gym for 1.5 hours, and on Thursdays, I train with Carmela Vitali for 1.5 hours. I also usually play tournaments on the weekends.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my unpredictability and variety of shots. I can definitely improve my mental toughness and my confidence with my one-handed backhand.
What is your age category and your ranking?
In Italy, I play U14 tournaments and I am a third category player.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
I won a U14 Kinder tournament and reached the final of the U16 Valtellina Masters.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
At the moment, I have only played tournaments in Italy, but this year I am thinking of making my debut in European tennis tournaments.
Do you have any sponsors?
I do not have any sponsors yet.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to reach the second category and achieve good results in important tournaments such as the Next Gen tournaments.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to break into the WTA Top 10 and win Roland Garros.
Which players would you most like to meet?
I have already met Matteo Berrettini and Flavio Cobolli, but I would really like to meet Stan Wawrinka and Iga Swiatek.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
In my free time, I like to play chess, listen to music, and I am also a good student.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my parents, who are always available to take me to tournaments and training, and to my grandparents, who help us with the equipment and also take me to tournaments when my parents are away for work.
