Hello, introduce yourself please.
Hi everybody, my name is Samuel Guzman. I am 13 years old and I was born on June 28, 2012. I am from Ecuador. I live in Guayaquil, and I was born in Cuenca. I am a junior tennis player competing at national and international level.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Spanish and I am currently learning English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 6 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my younger brother also plays tennis.
In which club do you train?
I train at Gomez Viver.
Who are your coaches?
My coaching team includes Andres Gomez, Raul Viver, and Luis Ruiz. I also work with other coaches at my tennis school.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train every day, including Saturdays. I also do extra practice sessions to improve my tennis.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
I believe my strengths are my mobility on the court and my tennis intelligence. I need to improve my decision-making.
What is your age category and your ranking?
I compete in the U14 category, and I am currently ranked No.7 in Ecuador.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
I have won several national trophies and achieved a bronze medal at the National Games while representing my province.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Ecuador, Chile, Paraguay, and Brazil. It has been a great experience for me.
Do you have any sponsors?
Not at the moment, but I hope to have sponsors in the future. I work hard and stay consistent to achieve better results.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to win national tournaments and reach the Top 5 in my country so I can represent Ecuador.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional tennis player and be a role model for others.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would love to meet Rafael Nadal. I saw him play once but didn’t have the chance to say hello. I admire his composure on the court and what I can learn from him.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my family, having dinners, going for walks, and playing football.
