Hello, introduce yourself please.
My name is Rong Ma. I am 14 years old and I was born on August 22, 2011. I am Chinese and I live in the Algarve, Portugal.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Mandarin Chinese, English, a bit of French and Portuguese, and also Dutch.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 10 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, I am the only tennis player in my family.
In which club do you train?
I train at Vilamoura Tennis Club and The Campus.
Who are your coaches?
My coaching team includes Ivone Alvaro, Michael JRG Tennis, and Coach Nabs.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train four times per week in a group, have physical training two to three days a week, and also do two private sessions per week. On weekends, if I do not have a tournament, I also hit with other players.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
I think my greatest strength as a player is my creativity and my willingness to try new things. I would like to improve the quality of my shots.
What is your age category and your national ranking?
I currently compete in the U16 category and I am ranked No.8 regionally. My best U14 national ranking was No.74.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
One of my greatest achievements so far has been winning the regional senior tournament twice in a row.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have competed in both China and Portugal.

No, I am currently supported by my parents.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to keep improving my ranking, win more high-level tournaments, and continue developing my game.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to play D1 and play for my country.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would love to meet Emma Raducanu because I looked up to her when I was younger and I really like her playing style.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I really enjoy football, karting, and creating songs.
