🏠 Našice, Croatia

Našice is a charming town situated in the eastern part of Croatia, nestled on the northern slopes of the picturesque Krndija mountain in the region of eastern Slavonia. It lies approximately 51 kilometers southwest of the major regional center, Osijek, which serves as a significant hub for the area. From an administrative perspective, Našice is part of Osijek-Baranja County, which governs the local affairs and development of this historically rich and culturally vibrant town.

Hello, introduce yourself please.
My name is Paula Smolčić, I am 13 years old and I was born on March 15, 2012, in Našice, Croatia, where I still live today.

At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was six, and since then the sport has become a big part of my life.

Are there other tennis players in your family?
No

In which club do you train tennis?
I train at TK Našice and TK Split.

Who is your tennis coach?
My coaches are Ivan Grotić and Igor Buljan.

How many hours a week do you train tennis and do physical training?
In Našice, I practice almost every day for about an hour and a half, while in Split my training sessions last around three and a half hours.

What is your junior tennis category and your national tennis ranking?
I compete in the U14 category and I am currently ranked 4th in Croatia.

What are your best tennis performances?
Some of my proudest moments are winning two European tournaments in Slovenia and two more in Split.

Do you have any sponsors?
I am sponsored by Babolat Croatia.

What tennis racket do you play with?
I play with a Babolat racket.

In which countries have you already participated in tennis tournaments?
Tennis has already taken me to tournaments in Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Austria, Serbia, and of course my home country.

What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional player and one day win a world tournament.

Who are your favorite tennis players?
My biggest inspiration is Carlos Alcaraz.

What do you like to do outside of tennis?
When I’m not on the court, I love playing football.
