🎙️Paula Kerošević | Interview, October 2025

Hello, introduce yourself please.
Hi! My name is Paula Kerošević, I’m 11 years old, born on January 18, 2014.
I’m German and Croatian, and I live in Braunschweig, Germany.

What languages do you speak?
I speak German and Croatian, and I’m currently learning English and Spanish — because tennis is a global language, but communication helps you connect everywhere!

At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started when I was 6 years old, and from the first swing I knew this sport would become my life.

Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes! My little sister also plays tennis — it’s fun and motivating to have someone at home who shares the same passion.

In which club do you train?
I train at MTV Braunschweig, TNB Region Harz-Heide, and at the Tennisbase Hannover.

Who are your coaches?
My main coaches are Christoph Uster, Niklas Gerdes, and Stefan Seifert, but sometimes I train with other academy coaches when I travel or join camps.

What is your weekly training routine?
I train every day — usually two hours of tennis and one hour of athletic training.
Weekends are for tournaments or private sessions, and sometimes recovery or match analysis.
I like to improve a little bit every single day.

As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my courage, passion, and the joy I bring to every match.
I’m working on adding more tactical variety — I want to play smarter, not just harder.

What is your junior category and your national ranking?
I currently play in the U12 and U14 categories.
In the German U12 ranking, I’m #8 (U11), and my best ranking so far was #3.
Recently, I’ve focused more on training than competing, because I believe preparation creates sustainable success.

What has been your greatest achievement?
Every tournament teaches me something, but my biggest highlight was winning the Talent Cup 2025 with the TNB team.
Another unforgettable moment was playing the Smrikva Bowl — it’s an incredible experience with top players from all over the world.

In which countries have you already played tournaments?
So far, I’ve played in Germany and Croatia, and next season I plan to enter more international tournaments all around Europe.

Do you have any sponsors?
Yes — I’m proudly supported by Wilson (equipment), Bidi Badu (clothing).
Their trust motivates me to train even harder every day.

What is your goal for 2026?
To improve my national ranking, play more international tournaments, and keep developing my mental and physical strength step by step.

What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to follow Novak Djokovic’s path, become the world number one, and one day win all four Grand Slams — and even achieve the Golden Slam. 🌟

Who are your favorite tennis players?
Novak Djokovic, because he’s mentally unbeatable and plays his best when the pressure is highest. And Aryna Sabalenka, because she brings amazing energy both on and off the court.

What do you like to do outside of tennis?
Tennis… and more tennis! 😄 But I also love reading, math (because logic is fun!), drawing, crafting, and I play volleyball in my school team. And whenever I can, I love traveling and spending time with friends.

To which people would you like to dedicate this interview?
To my parents — for their endless love, support, and belief in me.
Without them, I wouldn’t be able to chase my dream every single day.

Describe yourself in one sentence.
I’m a bit clumsy, I laugh a lot, but I never give up — because “Reality is wrong, dreams are for real.”

Thanks a lot Paula!
