Hello, introduce yourself please.
My name is Mila Fimmel. I am 11 years old and I was born in 2014. I am Australian and Vietnamese, and I am from Australia. I am a junior tennis player competing in the 12U category.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 7 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my whole family plays tennis, and that is one of the reasons why I love the sport so much.
In which club do you train?
I train at Woodville Orion and Seaside Tennis Club.
Who are your coaches?
My coaches are Craig Palfrey and Sharon Hambly.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train and practice five days a week, and I regularly compete in matches and tournaments on weekends.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My forehand and especially my serve have improved a lot over the past six months, and I am really proud of the work I have put in. My movement and aggression on court have also become important strengths thanks to the guidance and support of my coaches, Craig Palfrey and Sharon Hambly.
What is your age category and your ranking?
I compete in the 12U category.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My best achievements so far include being ranked No.3 in South Australia in the 10U category and winning multiple tournaments.
Do you have any sponsors?
Not yet, but I am working towards it.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to obtain sponsorship and make the 12U National Leaderboard.
What is your tennis dream?
To turn Pro and win Grand Slams.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would most like to meet Aryna Sabalenka because her strength and attitude are very inspiring to me.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy athletics and tumbling.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my parents and coaches, who continue to guide, support, and push me to be better every single day. I would not be where I am in my tennis journey without them, and I am very grateful for everything they have done for me.
