Hello, introduce yourself please.
My name is Mathias David Vinueza Arturo. I am 16 years old. I was born on July 7, 2009. I am Ecuadorian and I currently live in Manta, Ecuador.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Spanish and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at around 5 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
Not professionally, but some family members play recreationally.
In which club do you train?
I train at Umiña Tennis Club in Manta.
Who are the members of your team?
My team includes my head coach, Orlando Quiñónez, my fitness trainer, and the constant support of my family.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train every day except Sundays. I practice tennis for about 3 hours daily, followed by 1.5 hours of physical training.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My biggest strengths are my serve, my forehand, and my competitive mindset. I still need to improve my consistency and some aspects of my game.
What is your age category and your ranking?
I compete in the U18 category. I was top 7 in Ecuador in U16, and I am currently ranked inside the top 10 in U18.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
I have been a national champion 4 times in singles and also a national champion in doubles. I have represented my province in multiple competitions and achieved strong results in COSAT tournaments.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have only competed in Ecuador, and I will soon start playing ITF tournaments.
Do you have any sponsors?
I am currently looking for sponsors.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to achieve a strong ITF ranking and become one of the top 3 players in the national ranking.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become world No. 1, win the US Open, and proudly represent my country in the Davis Cup.

I would like to meet Carlos Alcaraz because of his mindset, discipline, and aggressive playing style.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
I practice other sports such as indoor and beach volleyball, and I enjoy spending time with my friends.
