Hello, introduce yourself please.
Hey, my name is Mate Gogrichiani. I was born on June 20, 2012, and I live in Tbilisi, Georgia. I am a junior tennis player competing in the U14 category.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Georgian and English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 7 years old, and it quickly became my favorite sport and activity.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, unfortunately there are no other tennis players in my family.
In which club do you train?
I train at GT Tennis Club, also known as Guram Tokhadze Tennis Club.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train four times a week. Three sessions are at the academy, and one day I work on my physical training by myself.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my forehand, my technique, and my mentality. The main part of my game that I need to improve is my serve.
What is your age category and your ranking?
I compete in the U14 category, and I am currently ranked among the Top 15 in Georgia.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
Some of my best achievements so far include winning a Winter Cup at my academy and competing in Med Antalya.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have played tournaments in Georgia and Turkey, but I plan to expand that list in the future.
Do you have any sponsors?
Currently I do not have any sponsors, but I have received some major discounts from brands.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to recover quickly from my injury, keep improving my tennis, work even harder on myself, play more tournaments, and improve my ranking.

My tennis dream is to become one of the greatest and most accomplished tennis players of all time.
Which players would you most like to meet and why?
I would really like to meet Ben Shelton and Alex de Minaur because they seem like very interesting people, and I would love to learn more about their journeys and techniques.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy reading books about tennis players’ journeys and sometimes playing video games.
