Hello, introduce yourself please.My name is María Camila Tobón, I’m 15 years old, I was born on July 10, 2010.
I’m Colombian, I live in Medellín, Colombia.What languages do you speak?Spanish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?I started at age 5.
Are there other tennis players in your family?Nope, I’m the only one.
In which club do you train?Javier Gómez Academy.
Who are your coaches?Javier Gómez.
What is your weekly training routine?I train from 7-10 tennis, 10-11 physical training, and in the afternoons from 2-4 tennis, 4-5 physical training.
As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?My greatest qualities are discipline and consistency. I am very focused in training and I don’t give up easily in matches, even when I’m behind on the scoreboard. I need to improve my emotional control in moments of pressure and make calmer decisions during important points.
What is your junior category and your national ranking?Category 16, ranked 2nd in Colombia.
What has been your greatest achievement?Having participated in the South American championships.
In which countries have you already played tournament?Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Panama, Cuba, Chile.
Do you have any sponsors?Nope.
What is your goal for 2026?To be ranked among the top 500 ITF players and to participate again in the COSAT South American championships.
What is your tennis dream?I dream of playing in WTA tournaments.
Who are your favorite tennis players?Roger Federer, Aryna Sabalenka.
What do you like to do outside of tennis?Play padel.
