Hello, introduce yourself please.My name is Maria Ayumi Beiu. I’m 13 year old. I was born on June 18, 2012.
I am half-Japanese and half-Romanian and I live in Osaka, Japan.What languages do you speak?I speak Japanese, English, Romanian and I am currently learning Spanish.
At what age did you start playing tennis?I started playing tennis when I was almost 4 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?Nobody in my family plays tennis competitively.
In which club do you train?I train at both the International Intelligence Agency IIA and the C’s Racquet Club.
Who are your coaches?–
What is your weekly training routine?I train 6 days a week.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?My strengths are my forehand and my serve. I need to improve my footwork and technique.
What is your age category and your national ranking?I play in the under-14 category. Right now, I’m 2nd in Osaka and 68th nationally in Japan.
What have been your greatest successes so far?In 2025, I won first place in the Ikemura-Cup junior tournament.
In which countries have you played tournaments?Japan and the United States

What is your goal for 2026?My goal is to win at least one ITF tournament.
What is your tennis dream?To win one Grand Slam among the four major tournaments.
Who are your favorite tennis players?My favorite WTA tennis players are Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, and Emma Raducanu. Among the men, I admire Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic.
What do you enjoy outside of tennis?Besides tennis, I enjoy dancing and painting.
