Hello, introduce yourself please.
My name is Margaret Natasha Chewe, I am 19 years old, and I was born on May 23, 2006.
I’m proudly Zambian and currently based in Lusaka, Zambia.

What languages do you speak?
I speak English and Bemba.

At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of 5.

Are there other tennis players in your family?
Yes, my father played tennis and he was actually my first coach. He introduced me to the sport and has supported me ever since.

In which club do you train?
I currently train at Lusaka Tennis Club.

Who are your coaches?
I am coached by Emmanuel Chewe

What is your weekly training routine?
I train 2-3 days a week. My sessions include physical conditioning, tactical drills, match play, and recovery.
I also work on mental strength and discipline off court.

As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?
My greatest quality is my mental toughness and determination I never give up easily.
I’m currently working on improving my net game and consistency under pressure.

What is your junior category and your national ranking?
I play in the Under-20 category and I’m ranked number 1.

What has been your greatest achievement?
Winning the Mika International Tournament 2025 and becoming the youngest female player to win a senior national tournament at age 14.
Representing Zambia at the World University Games in Germany was also a proud moment.

In which countries have you already played tournaments?
I’ve represented Zambia in Lesotho, Malawi, and Germany, Mauritius, Madagascar, Namibia ,south Africa and Zimbabwe

Do you have any sponsors?
No

What is your goal for 2026?
To compete in more international tournaments, improve my ITF ranking, and qualify for a Grand Slam junior event.

What is your tennis dream?
To become a professional tennis player, represent Zambia on the WTA tour and win all the four grand slams.
I want to inspire young girls across Africa to believe in their dreams.

Who are your favorite tennis players?
I admire Serena Williams for her strength and poise, and Novak Djokovic for his discipline and mental game.

What do you like to do outside of tennis?
I enjoy reading, listening to music, working out, traveling, and spending time with my family and friends.

To which people would you like to dedicate this interview?
I dedicate this to my dad, my coaches, the Zambia Tennis Association, my friends, and every young girl who dares to dream big.
