Hello, introduce yourself please.
My name is Maitreya Ganguly and I am a 14 year old tennis player living in Helsingborg, Sweden.
I was born in Kolkata, India on 27 of April 2011 and I moved to Sweden at the age of 4.

At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis at the age of 5 years old.

Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, I am the only tennis player in the family.

What is your club?
The club I play for and represent is Helsingborgs Tennisklubb.

Who is your coach?
My main tennis coach is Samuel Ekberg and others are Marcus Lindberg and Anna Nyman.

How many hours a week do you train tennis and do physical training?
I train for 7 hours a week at my club and do physical 2 hours at my club and during the weekends when I am at home, I do workouts and go running for physical exercises.

Do you have any sponsors?
No, at the moment I do not have any sponsors but I would really like to get a sponsor because I have been playing tennis for a very long time and getting a sponsor will help me in my journey.

What racket do you play with?
I play with a Head Speed.

What are your best results so far and your national ranking?
Unfortunately in Sweden we do not have a fixed junior category for boys 14 and under but I have a UTR ranking of 6.14 at the current moment.
I am in the top 15% of players aged 13-14 in Sweden as it’s shown in world tennis number rankings.
My best results in singles was when I won 2 tournaments in a row during November with a win streak of over 10 matches.
Another one of my best results was when I qualified twice from my zone to the regional finals in next gen cup once as an 11 year old and once as a 13 year old.
In doubles my best result was when I won my first doubles tournament a few days ago.

In which countries have you ever been to play tennis?
I have played various national and international tennis tournaments all over Sweden and other than that I have played in India as well.

What is your tennis dream?
My tennis dream is to become world no.1 and win Wimbledon.

Who are your favorite male and female tennis players?
My male tennis players are Carlos Alcaraz and Roger Federer because of their all round game, and their ability to vary the game depending on the situation because not all tennis players are good at that.
My favorite female tennis player is Aryna Sabalenka because of her tremendous power and how hard she hits the balls.
