Hello, introduce yourself please.
My name is Letizia Sanchez Romero. I am 17 years old and I was born on November 24, 2008. I am German and currently live in Barcelona, Spain.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Spanish, German, Polish, and English. My parents are from Spain and Poland, so I grew up in a very international environment.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 6 years old and I immediately developed a passion for the sport.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
My parents were both active in sports, but neither of them played tennis competitively.
In which club do you train?
I currently train at the Barcelona Tennis Academy in Spain.
Who are your coaches?
At the academy I work with great tennis coaches as well as fitness coaches who support my development and help me improve every day.
What is your weekly training routine?
I usually train six days a week for around five hours a day. My training includes tennis practice, fitness sessions, and physical conditioning.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My biggest strength is my forehand. At the moment I am working a lot on improving my speed and overall fitness.
What is your age category and your national ranking?
I currently compete in the U18 category, where I am ranked No.56 in Germany.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
One of my biggest achievements so far has been entering the international ranking. Another important result for me was becoming Vice-Hessen Champion in Germany.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far I have played tournaments in Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Spain.
Do you have any sponsors?
At the moment I am supported by private sponsors, and I hope to gain additional sponsors in the near future.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to continue building my international ranking and to start playing ITF Futures tournaments.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional tennis player and to compete in the Grand Slam tournaments.
Who are your favorite tennis players?
My favorite tennis player is Carlos Alcaraz because I love the way he shows how much fun he has on the court while playing at such a high level.
What do you enjoy outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, traveling to new places, and relaxing when I have some free time.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?
I would like to dedicate this interview to my parents, because they always support me in every possible way and believe in me.
