Hello, introduce yourself please.
My name is Leticia Zandamela, I am 14 years old — born on March 24, 2011.
I am Mozambican and I live in Pretoria, South Africa.

What languages ​​do you speak?
Portuguese and English

At what age did you start playing tennis?
Start at 9-10 years old.

Are there other tennis players in your family?
My sister also plays tennis.

In which club do you train tennis?
I train at different places but Curro Hazeldean and Keodos Park Tennis Club

Who is your tennis coach?
Frans Cronje

What is your weekly training routine?
Wake up at 4:30am — gym training from 5:00 to 6:15am then tennis training from 6:30 to 9:30am.
Do school from 10:00 to 16:00 — sometimes 15:30.
Tennis training from 16:30 to 18: 30

As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?
My greatest quality is my athleticism — I am very athletic and fast.
And I need to improve my mental overthinking.

What is your junior tennis category and your national tennis ranking?
I compet in U14 and U16 ujnior categories.
My national ranking is number 1 in U14 and U16 in Mozambique.

What has been your greatest achievement?
Overcoming the past version of myself and always trying to be a better and different version of myself, and also winnig Nationals U14 in my country 2 years in a row.

In which countries have you already participated in tennis tournaments?
I have played in Mozambique, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Portugal, USA, Timor-Leste, Angola, 12. 13. 14.

Do you have any sponsors?
I have HEAD as sponsor.

What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to improve every day and win.

What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional tennis player and be someone people can look up to.

Jannik Sinner, Iga Swiatek

What do you like to do outside of tennis?
Swimming, dancing, having fun

To which people would you like to dedicate this interview?
I would like to dedicated it to my Mom and Dad because they are always with me and they are the reason I do what I do everyday.
