Hello, introduce yourself please.
Hi, my name is Kristiana Hutchesson. I have just turned 12 years old and I was born in 2014. I hold dual Australian and New Zealand citizenship and I live in Katikati, New Zealand.
What languages do you speak?
I speak English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 9 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
My three sisters sometimes play tennis as well.
In which club do you train?
I train at Katikati Tennis Club and Sparta Academy in Auckland.
Who are your coaches?
My lead coach is Dwayne Cleugh at Sparta Academy in Auckland & I also train locally with Peter Blow & Christophe Lambert.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train about three hours of tennis plus one hour of fitness every day.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strength is my resilience. I am currently working on improving my footwork.
What is your age category and your national ranking?
I compete in the U12 category and I am currently ranked No.2 in New Zealand.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
One of my greatest achievements has been representing New Zealand and recently winning the Girls U12 National Clay title.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in New Zealand and Australia.
Do you have any sponsors?
No, I don’t have sponsors yet.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to continue improving as a player and to win more high-level tournaments.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become world No.1.
Who are your favorite tennis players?
My favorite tennis players are Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova. I also admire Tahlia Kokkinis in Australia. She is so fast on court & was really nice when I met her at a Tournament.
What do you enjoy outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy swimming and riding my bike.
