Hello, introduce yourself please.My name is Juan Ganón, I was born in Uruguay on February 17, 2010 and currently live in Salto, Uruguay.
What languages do you speak?I can speak Spanish, English and Portuguese.
At what age did you start playing tennis?I started playing tennis at age 6 and tournaments at 8 or 9.
Are there other tennis players in your family?In my family, I am currently the only tennis player, but in the beginning, my older cousin also played.
Which club do you train with?I train in 3 clubs: Club Remeros Salto, Club de tiro Salto Grande and in Club Salto Grande de Concordia.
Who are your coaches?My coaches are Federico Dondo, Manuel Gabrielli and Martín Labella.
What is your weekly training routine?My daily workout routines is from 9 am to 1 pm and in the afternoon I train from 4:30pm to 6pm physical and from 7pm to 9pm, and I stay at the gym a while longer to stretch well and recover.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?As an athlete I think my greatest quality is my style of play and often put grit in the most difficult moments, and something to improve would be my physique and my little bit my head.
What is your tennis category and national ranking?My junior category is COSAT U16, and my current national ranking is 2. But I would start 2026 being 1 national since the current number 1 leaves the category.
What has been your greatest achievement so far?My biggest success was beating a tough opponent in my second national final and making that match 2/6 0/3 down. Coming out national champion for the first time in my life.
In which countries have you played tournaments?I have played tournaments in Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil and Peru. For this 2026 I would like to go out and play many more places both in South America and North America.
Do you have any sponsors?I have Wilson Uruguay as my sponsor.
What is your goal for 2026?My goal for this 2026 is to be able to play with the best of each country at the same level and I also want to improve my cosat ranking and earn my first itf points.
What is your tennis dream?My dream is to become a professional tennis player, being among the best and taking my country to the top. And I would also like to win the US Open and Roland-Garros some day.
Who are your favorite tennis players?I do not have a specific favorite but many that I like, such as Sinner, Alcaraz, or Aliassime. But there is one that I do love which is Shelton.
What do you enjoy outside of tennis?In addition to tennis, I love being with my family and friends, playing video games and drawing.
Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?This interview is dedicated to my family who always accompanied me and helped me with all this dream that I have ahead. My coaches who help me improve day by day. To my psychologist who helped me too much in improving my mentality and finally send a big hug to my best friends who taught me that outside of tennis there are also many things to live and enjoy.
