Hello, introduce yourself please.

Hello, my name is Josefa Bello Flores, I am 12 years old and was born in September 2013. I am Chilean and live in Rancagua, Chile.

What languages do you speak?

I speak Spanish, some Portuguese and am learning English.

At what age did you start playing tennis?

I started playing at the age of 10, and from that moment tennis became a very important part of my life.

Are there other tennis players in your family?

My family does not play tennis, but if they say that they are fans of the sport I do and so it has been because they have supported me since day one.

Which club do you train with?

I train at Academia BKT.

Who are your coaches?

My coaches are Jorge and Carlos Herrera, who accompany me in my technical, physical and mental development.
Felipe Aliaga who helps me to polish my technique with patience, teaches me strategies and always encourages me to give my best.

What is your weekly training routine?

I train several days a week:

  • Tennis on the court: strokes, tactics, matches and game situations.
  • Physical preparation: strength, speed, coordination and mobility.
  • Mental work: breathing, focusing and visualizing before racing.
  • I train hard, but I really enjoy each session.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?

I believe that my greatest quality is my determination: I never stop fighting for a point and always seek to improve.
What I want to continue strengthening is my physical preparation and full concentration during matches, especially after my surgery.

What is your tennis category and national ranking?

I compete in the category 12 years.
This year I managed to reach the number 11 position in the national FTECh ranking, which was a great achievement for me.
After my operation I was not competing for a while, so I am currently in position 16.
I keep training with a lot of motivation to beat my best position again.

What has been your greatest achievement so far?

I am very proud to have won major tournaments, qualified for national tournaments and fulfilled the goals I set myself this year. I also consider it a special achievement that I was able to compete with strength again after my surgery.

In which countries have you played tournaments?

For now I have competed in Chile, but I would like to start playing tournaments abroad soon.

Do you have any sponsors?

I currently have no sponsors, but I hope that in the near future brands that support training sport and women’s tennis can accompany me on my competitive path. I would like to represent brands that believe in the discipline, hard work and dreams of young athletes.

What is your goal for 2026?

Continue to progress in my game, qualify for more major tournaments, add international experience and continue to grow as an athlete and as a person.

What is your tennis dream?

My dream is to reach the professional circuit, play a Grand Slam, represent Chile and one day raise a great trophy.

Who are your favorite tennis players?

I admire Rafael Nadal for his claw, Roger Federer for his elegance, and Iga Świątek and Coco Gauff for their strength, intelligence and mentality.

What do you enjoy outside of tennis?

I like studying, drawing, listening to music, playing the piano occasionally, playing with my friends and spending time with my family.

Who would you like to dedicate this interview to?

To my parents, who accompany me everywhere, to my coaches for believing in me, and to all the girls who dream of reaching far in tennis
