Hello, introduce yourself please.
My name is Jose Contreras, I am 13 years old, born on March 23, 2012.
I am from La Paz, Bolivia.

What languages do you speak?
English, Spanish

At what age did you start playing tennis?
At 5 years old.

Are there other tennis players in your family?
My dad.

In which club do you train tennis?
I train at Club Aleman.

Who is your tennis coach?
My personal coach is Rodrigo Mamani, but I train with Damian Eduwin Ronald Carmona.

What is your weekly training routine?
I get home from school at 3:15, eat lunch, and train from 3:45 to 6:30.
After that, I have private lessons from 6:30 to 8:15, and 10 minutes to stretch.
I get home, do my homework, have dinner, and go to sleep.

As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my forehand and my attitude towards training, but I lack mental strength on the court.

What is your junior tennis category and your national tennis ranking?
My national ranking in Bolivia is 6th, but next year I’ll be 2nd because the older players will be leaving my 14-year-old boys category.
I’m ranked 45th in the COSAT rankings.

What has been your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement, I believe, was reaching the finals of a COSTAT Grade 2 tournament twice, both in singles and doubles, and winning a G1 title in both singles and doubles at the national level.

In which countries have you already participated in tennis tournaments?
I have played in Argentina, Paraguay, and my home country, Bolivia. In Paraguay, I participated in the South American Championships, and in Argentina, in a COSAT tournament. Here in Bolivia, I have played in several COSAT tournaments and in the COSAT Cup, which is an international competition.

Do you have any sponsors?
I don’t have any sponsors, but I hope to get some someday.

What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to go to the South American Championships and, hopefully, win it, and then join the European circuit.
To achieve this, I need to perform exceptionally well on the Grade 1 circuit.

What is your tennis dream?
My biggest dream is to turn professional and win the French Open.

Who are your favorite tennis players?
My favorite tennis players are Alcaraz, Sinner, Federer, and Nadal.

What do you like to do outside of tennis?
