My name is Jorge Luis López Morgado. I am 9 years old and I was born on July 3, 2016. I have Ecuadorian and Spanish nationality, and I live in Ecuador.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Spanish and I am currently learning English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 6 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, I am the only tennis player in my family, but my family supports me a lot in my tennis journey.
In which club do you train?
I train in Ecuador, where I practice almost every day.
Who are your coaches?
I train with my coaches in Ecuador and I also receive great support from my family, who motivates me every day to keep improving.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train tennis almost every day and I also work on physical preparation such as speed, coordination, and strength.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my serve and my speed to reach the balls. I am currently working on improving my consistency and strengthening my overall game.
What is your age category and your national ranking?
I compete in the 10-and-under category, where I am ranked in the Top 3. I also compete in the 12-and-under category, where I am around No.20 nationally.My current UTR ranking is 4.44
What have been your greatest successes so far?
One of my greatest achievements was winning the Little Mo tournament in Miami, where I became champion in singles and doubles in the 9-year-old category. I have also been provincial champion and national champion in the 10-and-under category in both singles and doubles, and champion of a G3 tournament in the 12-and-under category in 2026.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
I have played tournaments in Ecuador and in the United States.
Do you have any sponsors?
At the moment I do not have sponsors, but I hope to have some in the future.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to keep improving my level, gain more experience, and compete in more international tournaments.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional tennis player and represent Ecuador and Spain in the most important tournaments in the world.
Which player would you most like to meet and why?
I would like to meet Rafael Nadal because of his fighting spirit, his discipline, and the way he never gives up on the court. I would also like to meet Carlos Alcaraz.
What do you enjoy doing outside of tennis?
Outside of tennis, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing with my friends, traveling, and visiting beaches.
