Hello, introduce yourself please.
My name is Jonathan Alexander Martínez Villota, I am 10 years old, born on February 25, 2015.
I am Ecuadorian and I live in Riobamba, Ecuador.At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 6 years old.Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, I am the first tennis player in my family.What is your club?
I currently train at Tenis Pro Academy.Who are your coaches?
My coach is Milton Alemán, a former Ecuadorian player recognized for his achievements as a junior and also a national champion. He supports me in the technical, tactical, and physical aspects of my training.How many hours a week do you train tennis and do physical training?
I train 3 hours a day, from Monday to Saturday. My schedule includes 2 hours and 15 minutes of tennis and 45 minutes of physical conditioning every day.What is your junior category and your national ranking?
I currently play in the 10 & under category.
In 2025, I became National Champion in both singles and doubles.What are your best performances?
So far, I have won more than 28 trophies since I started competing. Some highlights are:
• National Champion in singles and doubles in the 10 & under category.
• 2-time runner-up in singles.
• 5-time runner-up in doubles.
• Provincial Champion in several tournaments.
• Recently, I won both singles and doubles titles in the 12 & under category at a tournament organized by the Tennis Association of Pichincha, Ecuador.
I feel very proud of what I have achieved at my age, and I am motivated to keep working hard to achieve much more.Do you have any sponsors?
At the moment, I don’t have any sponsors. My parents are my biggest support and the foundation of my dream. I hope that in the near future, I can find people or organizations who believe in my talent and want to support me as sponsors to keep building this path.What racket do you play with?
I play with a Babolat Junior 25 racket.In which countries have you ever been to play tennis?
I have competed in Ecuador and also in Colombia.What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become a professional tennis player, to be world number one, win Grand Slams, and proudly represent Ecuador around the world.Who are your favorite tennis players?
I admire many great players like Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Jannik Sinner. But without a doubt, my favorite player right now is Carlos Alcaraz. I admire his strength, his fighting spirit, and especially his discipline on and off the court. He inspires me every day to give my best.What do you like to do outside of tennis?
Outside tennis, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going to the cinema, traveling, and sharing special moments with my loved ones.Thanks a lot Jonathan!
