Hello, introduce yourself please.
Hi, my name is João Lucas Alves Sarkis Afif. I am 8 years old and I was born on April 20, 2017. I am Brazilian and I live in São José dos Campos, São Paulo, Brazil.
What languages do you speak?
I speak Portuguese and I am currently learning English.
At what age did you start playing tennis?
I started playing tennis when I was 8 years old.
Are there other tennis players in your family?
No, there are no other tennis players in my family.
In which club do you train?
I train at Hocevar Academy.
Who are your coaches?
My coaches are Professor Luís Gustavo, João, and Bruno.
What is your weekly training routine?
I train four times a week, about two hours per day.
What is your greatest strength as a player, and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my discipline and my backhand. I still need to improve my serve.
What is your age category and your national ranking?
I play in the U9 category. My national ranking has not been updated yet.
What have been your greatest successes so far?
My greatest achievement so far is being the runner-up at the 2026 São Paulo ATTP Championship.
In which countries have you played tournaments?
So far, I have only played tournaments in Brazil.

No, I do not have any sponsors yet.
What is your goal for 2026?
My goal for 2026 is to win a stage of a championship.
What is your tennis dream?
My dream is to become the world number one in tennis.
Who are your favorite tennis players?
My favorite tennis players are Guga and Jannik Sinner.
What do you enjoy outside of tennis?
Besides tennis, I enjoy going to school, training jiu-jitsu, and swimming.
