Hello, introduce yourself please.

Hi, I’m Jennifer. I just turned 13, I’m from Ecuador, and I live in Guayaquil.

What languages do you speak?

I speak Spanish (my native language), English, a little Kichwa (an ancestral language), and French.

At what age did you start playing tennis?

I started my competitive tennis training at age 11.

Are there other tennis players in your family?

There are no professional tennis players in my family.

In which club do you train?

I currently train at the Miguel Olvera Tenis at the National Tennis Center (CNT), affiliated with the Ecuadorian National Tennis Federation.

Who are your coaches?

I’m currently training with Antonio Colmenares, a technical coach (Venezuelan); Ricardo Aldaz, a physical trainer (Ecuadorian, trained in Cuba); and a tennis coach (Ecuadorian) Gilson Unamuno.

What is your weekly training routine?

My daily training routine consists of plyometrics, footwork, sprints, gym work, and step aerobics. I do technical and physical work for 3 hours a day, Monday through Friday, every week.

As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?

My best quality as an athlete, I would say, is that I am disciplined and consistent. I understand that I am developing my tennis skills, and I need to continue training daily to be the best version of myself.

What is your junior category and your national ranking?

My playing category is 14 years old, ranked 50th nationally, and 16 years old, ranked 50th nationally.

What has been your greatest achievement?

In my development, I would say that my successes include having competed in 3 COSAT tournaments, representing my country through COSAT, playing with girls from Colombia and Mexico, and having met my heroes like Andrés Gómez and Emilio Gómez.

In which countries have you already played tournament?

I have played some tournaments here in Ecuador, my native country; I haven’t yet traveled to other countries.

Do you have any sponsors?

I don’t have any sponsors yet.

What is your goal for 2026?

My goal for 2026 is to compete in the professional championships in my category, and also compete in COSAT and ITF tournaments, aiming to win a championship or runner-up title.

What is your tennis dream?

My tennis dream is to become number 1 in the WTA rankings, represent my country, and win the US Open and the Australian Open.

Who are your favorite tennis players?

My favorite tennis players are: Mirra Andreeva, Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, and Emma Navarro.

What do you like to do outside of tennis?

Besides practicing and dreaming about tennis, I also really enjoy studying, drawing, painting, and singing.

To which people would you like to dedicate this interview?

I would like to dedicate this interview to my mom and dad, because I love them very much, and also because they support me in my dream of becoming a professional tennis player.
