Hello, introduce yourself please.
My name is Jan Maximilian Velek, I am 14 years old and I was born on March 20, 2011.
I am German and Czech, and I live in Ansbach, Germany.What languages do you speak?
German and a little bit Czech.At what age did you start playing tennis?
Since I am 2 years old.Are there other tennis players in your family?
Everyone — my mom, my dad, my two sisters and one brother.In which club do you train tennis?
SG Stadtpark Schwabach.Who is your tennis coach?
My dad and very good players I train with.What is your weekly training routine?
- Monday: playing some sets with a very good player
- Tuesday: playing with Coach
- Wednesday: playing some sets with a even better player
- Thursday: no training
- Friday to Sunday: often tournaments in Germany
I also go running and do exercises over the week.
As an athlete, what is your greatest quality and what do you need to improve?
My greatest strengths are my mentality and my forehand – I’ve pulled off some incredible comebacks and I have the ability to beat much higher-ranked players. Maybe I need to improve my backhand.What is your junior tennis category and your national tennis ranking?
I am in Under-14 category and I am ranked #182 in Germany.What has been your greatest achievement?
Runner Up Under-15 in Dubai.In which countries have you already participated in tennis tournaments?
